SSIS 2008 Course Announced!

Over 23 hours of SQL Server 2008 Integration Services training

Our SQL Server 2008 Integration Services is a comprehensize A-Z course that covers exactly what you want in an SSIS course: data flow, data flow, and more data flow. You will learn about transformations, common design patterns used in SSIS, how to manage task execution with precedence constraints and much more. Also covered are best practices, performance tuning, security, package management and many real world situations that almost all SSIS developers must be able to handle.

NOTE: This course is being released as it is finished. All together it will have nine chapters with the first four chapters being released in November, 2009 and the final five chapters released throughout November and December, 2009.

SSIS 2008 Course FAQs

When will the course be available for purchase? It should be ready no later than November 20 however we thought it would be available this week. Unfortunately Scott lost all or part of his voice for over one week and this delayed the release.

How much will it cost? $99.95 for a single-user license when purchased individually or 20% off when purchased with another course (i.e. buying two courses at the same time)

Will there be a SQL Server 2008 Package? Yes, eventually. Once we have the SSRS course and a SQL queries course (slated to be released within the next 60 days), we will package them together as four courses. The price will be $299.95.

If I purchase both the SQL 2008 DBA course (course 157) and the SSIS 2008 course now, can I later upgrade to the package and still save money? Yes. Anyone who purchases both course 157 and course 158 will receive an email with instructions for upgrading to the package.

If I bought the SSIS 2005 course, do I need to take the SSIS 2008 course? Well, that depends... The SSIS 2008 course is more comprehensive than the 2005 course and covers many more data flow scenarios. It is also a more structured course and not as "task oriented" as the 2005 version. If you feel that you came close to mastering SSIS after taking the 2005 course then there is probably no need to purchase the 2008 course. If, however, you want a more structured classroom-style approach, then you would likely enjoy the 2008 course.

If I bought the SSIS 2005 course, can I get a discount for purchasing the SSIS 2008 course? Yes, provided that you are purchasing the course individually (i.e. not part of the SQL Server 2008 package mentioned previously). For those who purchased the SSIS 2005 course individually (not as part of the SQL Server 2005 package), you will receive a 50% discount on the 2008 course. For those who purchased the SQL Server 2005 Integration Services course as part of the SQL Server 2005 package, you will need to wait for the SQL Server 2008 package to be released. When we release our SQL Server 2008 package, we will offer an upgrade discount to those people who purchased the SQL Server 2005 package.

Stay tuned for our next newsletter - we will release more details about purchasing and how to recieve your discount!
